Akai lct2785ta Sound Problem

Question

Every time I change the channel, the sound defaults to Mono and I have to press the MTS button to change it to Stereo. I can't believe a company would produce a product that you have to press a button to get stereo every time you change channels. There has to be a way to have the default stereo.
