Akasaka seeks to win Dundalk Claiming Race
Akasaka seeks to seal a sterling success in the Group Discounts At Dundalk Claiming Race which is going to take place at Dundalk racecourse on Friday, April 13.
The Edward Lynam-trained bay gelding is fully determined to capitalise well on the momentum produced by his last triumph that came on March 30, 2012.
The five-year-old veteran runner elegantly finished first in his last outing. He was 10-11 favourite for that race.
Today’s high-stakes contest over a distance of 1 mile 2 furlongs and 150 yards will commence at 6:15 (GMT). The prize purse contains €4,830.
Akasaka is set face three potential rivals including Spin Of Coin, Baitsileir and Table Forty Six.
Since the dawn of 2012, the maverick horse has been performing brilliantly. After bagging a big victory in his maiden start at Dundalk on January 6, he moved forward to grab 3rd and 2nd positions in the two subsequent races.
The talented gelding ran all of his last five races at the venue where he is going to show his guts for the Claiming Race title today. Overall, he has won 3 out of his total 14 starts to date.
At the moment, Akasaka is carrying immense enthusiasm which will help him make a big impact in the coming showdown. The hot favourite horse’s chances to finish first are as high as 90 percent.
Among the other runners, Spin Of A Coin and Baitsileir will also unleash enough firepower in the race.
Spin Of A Coin boosted up his morale greatly by achieving an epic conquest on February 10, 2012. The Edward Lynam-trained bay gelding went ahead to finish 4th and 2nd in the two subsequent ventures.
On the other hand, Baitsileir excellently grabbed a runner-up rank in his last start on March 30, 2012. Overall, J. S. Bolger’s bay gelding has won 1 out of his total 10 races today.
Come what may, success seems to be bending on Akasaka. However, the competition will be fairly tough. The favourite runner’s march towards victory will be amazing to watch.
