Akeed Mofeed scratched from the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas on 26thMay, 2012
The talented, Akeed Mofeed, has been ruled out of the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas, which is scheduled to take place at Curragh on 26th May, 2012.

The three-year-old colt trained by John M. Oxx sustained a minor injury, after which the trainer decided that he is unfit for racing in the upcoming event.
The son of Dubawi, out of mare Wonder Why, missed quite a few races because of his injury, and the next stop for him is likely to be the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, which will take place on 30th June, 2012, at Curragh.
John Oxx stated to the press that:
"He won't be ready in time for the Irish Guineas, it will be too much of a rush for him. The annoying thing is it's nothing serious, just a little tweak, but they take time to get over.
"At this stage of the season, all the races come at you fast and it doesn't need to be much for you to miss a few of them.”
The trainer is hoping that he will recover soon enough, so that he can start his preparations for the Irish Derby.
It is a bit disappointing for his connections as he has demonstrated promising potential in the past.
So far, the bay colt owned by Jaber Abdullah, competed in three starts and performed in a commendable manner.

He finished fourth in a line-up of thirteen runners in his maiden at Leopardstown in August, 2011, but his performances improved in the next starts.
Whelped in February, 2009, the colt triumphed in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo (C & G) Maiden on 3rd September, 2011, where he defeated race favourite, Athens, by 5 lengths.
In his most recent start, the young runner raced as a favourite and finished as a runner-up to David Livingston, where he narrowly missed the victory by ½ a length in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes on 25th September, 2011.
Due to this injury, the colt missed the opportunity to compete in the Newmarket Guineas and the Investec Derby at Epsom, where he was declared the second favourite. He also missed his chance to shine in the Derrinstown Derby Trial.
