Akihiro Yamaguchi wins Men’s 200m breast-stroke title - 2011 FINA World Junior Championships
Day four of the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships began in scintillating fashion with the impeccable splash of Japan’s Akihiro Yamaguchi in Lima, Peru, on Friday, August 19. The session of the meet conducted Men’s 200m breast-stroke final. In the corresponding
meet, Yamaguchi took home the gold medal on the podium by posting a stunning time of 2 minutes and 11.70 seconds.
Meanwhile, Oleksiy Rozhkov of Ukraine took home the silver medal on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 13.94 seconds and Maksym Shemberev snared the bronze medal in the platform by posting a matchless time of 2 minutes and 14.08
seconds. In the corresponding race, Chase Kalisz of United States wound up fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 14.13 seconds.
Marat Amaltdinov of Russia was placed fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 15.23 seconds, while Josh Prenot of United States earned sixth place honours with a mark of 2 minutes and 15.28 seconds. Flavio Bizzarri of Italy wound up seventh in a time of 2 minutes
and 16.04 seconds, whereas, Buster Sykes of Australia was placed eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 17.04 seconds.
Afterwards, the Women’s 50m butterfly crown was taken over by Egypt’s Farida Osman Hisham by posting a winning time of 26.69 seconds. After the meet, Hisham was really contented and pleased with her swim. Kendyl Stewart of United States of America snagged
the silver medal on the podium by submitting a scintillating time of 26.78 seconds, while Vanessa Mohr of South Africa Chanta Landeghem Van of Canada settled in a tie for bronze medal by posting a matching time of 26.85 seconds.
In the corresponding race, Justine Bruno of France was placed fifth in a time of 27.04 seconds and Daria Tcvetkova of Russia wound up sixth in a time of 27.12 seconds. Nadiya Koba of Ukraine earned seventh place honours in a time of 27.63 seconds and Rino
Hosoda of Japan settled eighth in 27.68 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the winners were awarded medals and accolades due to their brilliant swims after the session’s completion.
