Akram praises Gary Kirsten, says his absence will be a loss for India
Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 as one of the best coaches in international cricket, and said that it will be a great loss for the Indian team if Kirsten leaves them after the 2011 World Cup.
Kirsten has led the Indian team to many historic victories in his three-year stint with the team. The Indian team reached the number one spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings with the hard work and commitment of Kirsten.
The former South African player was expected to extend his contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, a board official confirmed that considering his family matters, Kirsten will no longer be involved with the Indian team after
the mega event.
Wasim Akram stated, “Gary has done wonders for Team India. He is one of the best coaches that I have seen in international cricket. He has a quiet personality and does his job without much fuss. He plays a good part behind the scenes. He has always been
a much organised cricketer and we saw that aspect in his coaching as well.”
The Indian team has also done well on the foreign tours under Kirsten's coaching. The Men in Blue were close to a series win in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 for the first time in history, but they missed out as they were without some of their key players.

to find his replacement.”
The former left-arm pacer is currently associated with the Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and may be a potential candidate for the BCCI to consider after Kirsten steps-down.
However, it all depends on what choices the BCCI has. At the moment, the board will be hoping that Kirsten continues to inspire the Indian team and helps them lift the World Cup.
Even if India fails to win the mega event, Kirsten will be considered as one of the most successful coaches following his tremendous run with the Indian team.
