Al Baidaa set for strong comeback after long training
After going through taxing training for almost two months, the Roger Varian trained bay filly, Al Baidaa, has summed up a lot of confidence and momentum that will lend a great hand to her when she takes on a dozen of rivals in the 32Red Handicap at Wolverhampton.
The high-profile class 4 contest is scheduled to start at 7:40 (GMT) on Wednesday, August 29. The standard track of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 103 yards is ready for the mega marathon.
Al Baidaa has experienced such sort of race conditions for once in her 4-race career that began in October 2011. With her eyes on the prize money worth £4,528, the fantastic filly will do her utmost to seal success.
After a pathetic start, the daughter of Exceed And Excel out of Intrum Morshaan finished 3rd in the 14-runner event of the Betfair Supporting Grassroots Racing Maiden Stakes (Div II), held at Kempton on April 30, 2012.
She went on to repeat the same in the very next race named as Skybet Mobile For iPhone And Android Maiden Fillies' Stakes that went down at Windsor.
Then came the day of June 29 when the Saif Ali owned maverick sprinter marvellously broke her maiden by winning the British Stallion Studs Supporting EBF Fillies' Handicap, took place at Chester. The best thing was that she emphatically defeated the hot
favourite candidate, Kenyan Cat, to turn success to her favour.
Right after two months, Al Baidaa is geared up for another victory. It is hoped that she will do well convincingly. The only thing she needs to do is to quell Position who is desperate to break the jinx of failures.
The Sir Mark Prescott Bt trained bay gelding elegantly finished as the runner-up in each of his last two starts on August 15 and 20. On August 29, 2011, he finished 6th in a race at Newcastle.
Come what may, Position cannot deny victory to Al Baidaa. He can only give somewhat tough time to her. By and large, the spectators will enjoy an exciting and thrilling action today. Good luck to all the contestants.
