Al Kazeem aiming for success in Coral-Eclipse – Horseracing News
Al Kazeem is expected to stretch his winning streak in the ongoing season by winning the Coral-Eclipse (British Champions Series) (Group 1) at Sandown in England on Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Trainer of the five-year-old horse, Roger Charlton said, “I've been very pleased with him. You can never tell when a horse has had a tough race as to how quickly they will recover, it is not an exact science. But all the outward
signs are very encouraging and we are aided by the fact he is a terrifically good eater.”
Although Al Kazeem has been given the best odds for victory in the all important competition, things will not be easy for him at all. He will have to weather the storm from some extremely talented runners, who will not make life
easy for him.
Coral spokesman Simon Clare was delighted to see the line up for the race and he expressed his joy by saying, “This year's Coral-Eclipse has all the magic ingredients we could wish for with the winners of both the Prince of Wales's
and the Queen Anne taking part as well as a top class three- year-old in Mars, a German-trained Group One winner in Pastorius, and a Group One-winning filly in The Fugue.”
A total of seven runners have been confirmed for the class-1 encounter, which has a cash prize of £241,018 for the winner. Apart from Miblish, anyone of them could end up pulling off a surprise, as they are all highly talented
performers.
However, it is not going to be easy for anyone to take on Al Kazeem, considering his current form. He has appeared in three races this season, winning all of them. His record prior to this year was a decent one, but it has really
taken a positive turn in recent times.
Overall, the seasoned challenger has participated in a total of 11 races, winning six of them, which shows that he has an ideal strike rate of more than 50 percent. Moreover, he has finished as a runner up on four occasions, which
is a clear indication that he does not take things lightly and always fights at the front for victories.
