Al Kazeem prefers Coral-Eclipse over King George VI – Horseracing News
Al Kazeem will appear in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown instead of the King George VI, where he is rated as the favourite to succeed.
Revealing the plans of his stallion, trainer Roger Charlton said, “Al Kazeem might be best at a mile and a half but the plan is that we will run in the Eclipse and not the King George. The Eclipse will be followed by the Irish
Champion and then the Arc.”
The five-year-old horse has really improved his performances with the passage of time. He started off his career in 2010 and was unable to make an impression on his debut. However, that did not stop him from fighting back and he
was victorious in his very next outing.
From then onwards, Dubawi’s son has been delivering solid performances. Other than his debut race, he never dropped out of the top-two, which shows that he is a quick learner and has the ability to grow stronger in the coming years.
The previous two seasons proved to be really good for Al Kazeem, but he has really done justice to his potential in the ongoing year. He has appeared in a total of three races in 2013, winning all of them with ease.
Out of those victories, two came in Group-1 events, which has boosted the confidence of Al Kazeem’s camp. As a result, they are aiming some bigger events in the near future like the Coral-Eclipse.
According to the Coral spokesman Simon Clare, “Al Kazeem has progressed enormously this season and after two Group 1 wins on the bounce he deserves to be the 2-1 favourite. The Eclipse is never an easy race to win but he was very
impressive at Ascot and now it is a case of waiting to see which of the other big guns in the betting take him on at Sandown.”
Although the talented horse will get the attention of the punters in his upcoming race, he should not get carried away with that. There will be some extremely good runners up against him, so the competition will be an interesting
one. However, his fans will be hoping that he continues winning races this year.
