The former Bayern Munich striker has signed a one-year deal with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emirates-Club-c39004 after spending a year with Juventus.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 goalkeeper, Walter Zenga. Toni stated that he is looking forward to his new challenge under extremely different and difficult
conditions. He confirmed that Zenga wanted him to sign for Al Nasr in order to strengthen his team’s chances to win this year’s UAE Pro League.
The Blue-Wave are currently second in the league standings with 24 points from 12 games, three short of the present leaders, Al Ain. Toni mentioned that former Italy defender, Fabio Cannavaro, also prompted him to accept this new
challenge in order to experience something different and tough in his career. Cannavaro himself spent a year in UAE with Al Ahli, where he made 16 league appearances, netting twice during the process.
While talking to reporters following his transfer to Al Nasr, the 34-year-old further added:
“Zenga convinced me to come here, he said ‘you have to come here and win with us’. It was a new challenge and I want to try and win something here. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Cannavaro-c13164 and Bresciano also told me that I needed to come here. Some people
say it is easy here."
On the other hand, the attacker insisted on winning silverware and score as many goals with his new club. He also confirmed that he might reassess his future in UAE if he finds life interesting and manageable with the Al-Maktoum
outfit.
"I have a one year contract with Al Nasr and if they are happy with me and I am happy here we will continue, otherwise I will back down. I have a new challenge and I want to help the coach and this club," Toni concluded.
Toni has previously represented the likes of Genoa, AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, Fiorentina, Palermo and Brescia during his long footballing career. The former Italy striker retired from international football in 2009 after earning 47 caps for the
country.
