Al Raihe’s Alsindi and Mahmood Al Zarooni’s Gamilati to meet in the UAE 1,000 Guineas on 3rd February
Gamilati and Alsindi will counter each other again in the seventh fixture of the Dubai World Cup Carnival 2012, as the two are contesting for the UAE 1,000 Guineas.
The first time the two raced against one another was on 6th January in the UAE 1,000 Guineas Trial presented by Longines which was raced over a distance of seven furlongs, and was won by the 4 to 11 favourite of the race, Gamilati,
who was ridden by Frankie Dettori.
Alsindi, who is trained by Al Raihe finished second, 2 ¾ lengths adrift of the winner, and was ridden by Royston Ffrench.
The three-year-old bay filly of Acclamation out of Needles And Pins, Alsindi is owned by Saeed Manana while she has been bred by Hardisty Bloodstock. She raced thrice in the 2011 season, out of which she won twice.
Alsindi broke her maiden stakes on 28th April, 2011 at Yarmouth after which she won the Group 3 Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes on 23rd September, 2011 at Newmarket.

Her concluding race for the season was not really very memorable as she finished last however, her attempt during the 2012 seasonal debut gifted her with being the runner up of the UAE 1,000 Guineas Trial.
Mahmood Al Zarooni trained three-year-old, Gamilati who is owned by Godolphin racing and was bred by Darley stable has already posted a victory in the UAE 1,000 Guineas Trial, which also marked as her seasonal debut.
She has raced four times through the 2011 season that culminated in a win, and was placed twice. Gamilati cleared her maiden stakes on 24th June, 2011 at Newmarket, at second asking. On 8th July, she
won the Group 1 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.
The trainer is highly speculative about the two entries that he is sending into the UAE 1,000 Guineas this time, its Gamilati and her stable mate, Pimpernel.
Al Zarooni said: "They are both very nice fillies with very good form in Europe but Gamilati has that run under her belt this year and has proved herself on the Meydan Tapeta.
"Mickael Barzalona will ride Pimpernel and they should both run well but that race fitness does suggest Gamilati is our best chance”.
