The manager of Qatari based outfit is unfazed with defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928 and is eyeing a third place finish in the competition.
Despite losing to the Catalan giants in the semi-final of the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup, Al Sadd have gleefully accepted the defeat and are eyeing a third place finish in the tournament.
Japan’s Nissan Stadium hosted the second semi-final between Al Sadd and Barcelona on Thursday, December 15, with the Catalonian outfit winning by a comprehensive 4-0 margin. Goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maxwell-c25051
helped Barca to progress through to the finals of the competition where they will meet Brazilian side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532.
The Wolf never imposed their game on the European Champions and played the game in their own half for majority of the match.
However, their resistance could not last long as Correia opened the scoring in the 25th minute. The Brazilian grabbed a brace right at the stroke of half-time before Keita and Maxwell closed the doors on the underdogs
by scoring in the 64th and 81st minute respectively.
Al Sadd manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Fossati, reckons that the defeat was on the cards even before the match started and it was a matter of damage limitation for his side. Fossati believes that it was a great learning experience for his side
and congratulated Barca on reaching the final.
The manager opined that his team performed well against one of the top sides in Europe and restricting them to only four goals is also an achievement.
While talking during the post-match press conference, Fossati further enthused:
"I feel very happy now, and also my team and players, especially the local players. It was a very good experience, so the Qatari players will be able to make the most of this experience and develop further.”
"Before the match I said this: we know there is a gap between the two sides, but we want to close that gap. For the local Qatari players this was a very good experience and very good for the development of the football in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986."
The boss concluded.
