Al Shababiya of significant interest in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Taunton

Taunton will be hosting Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novices’ Handicap Hurdle on 1st March, 2012. The track runs around a distance of 3 miles and 110 yards. The 8 runners will be competing for a purse of £4,224.
The line-up consists of the following runners:
Time Do,
Briefcase,
Father Probus,
Dream Again Boys,
Al Shababiya,
Magical Treasure,
Zagova, and
Giveitachance.
Al Shababiya, the 5-year-old mare has been performing extremely well and her trainer, Alison Thorpe, is proud of her performance.
She was victorious in her season debut. The daughter of Dubawi, out of Multaka, defeated Inkberrow Rose by a neck, in the Three Cliffs Handicap Hurdle, at Ffos Las, on 11th January, 2012.
She was pulled up from her next race due to an injury. She could not complete the Lindleygroup.com Handicap Hurdle, at the same venue, on 29th January, 2012.
She regained her form and health and finished as a runner-up in her most recent race. She was defeated by Cross The Flags by 6 lengths, in the Dunraven Stud Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, at Ffos Las, on 19th February, 2012.
Magical Treasure has not competed since 2010. The 8-year-old gelding has finished in 3rd in his last three races.
Brendan Powell, his trainer, is hoping that after this long break, Magical Treasure will return with full force.
The son of Riverwise, out of Alice’s Mirror, was defeated by Lomitaar and Santamina, in the Action Duchenne Charity Maiden Hurdle, at Newton Abbot, on 18th July, 2010.
Briefcase, the 7-year-old gelding, finished in 3rd place in his previous race. He has not competed in his seasonal debut yet and this race will show how much he has improved.
The son of Witness Box, out of Another Tycoon,  crossed the wire after No Woman No Cry and How’s My Friend, in the Taunton and District Branch FSB Novices’ Handicap Hurdle, at Taunton, 24th November, 2011.
Dream Again Boys, son of Presenting, out of The Silver Dyer, shocked the competition as he finished in 1st place in the Edenbridge Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle, at Lingfield, on 23rd February, 2012.
He defeated Phardessa by 1 ½ lengths.
His trainer, Jonjo O’Neill, was proud of his outstanding performance.
In the market, Al Shababiya is gaining immense popularity. The bookmakers and punters are taking a keen interest in her. It is predicted that she will finish the race in first place.
Magical Treasure is also getting a significant amount of interest from the market. It is assumed that he likely to finish after Al Shababiya but nothing can be said for sure as he is racing after a long break.
The contenders for a finish in the third place are Briefcase and Dream Again Boys.
