Al Wasl’s new manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Maradona-c11160, has been given the charge of club’s recruitment which will take place once the manager arrives at the club to take charge. Club’s Chief Executive, Ashraf Ahmad Mohammed, confirmed that it will be entirely up to the
Argentinean to decide who comes in and who goes out.
He also revealed that the there are a host of players who want to join the club especially after Maradona’s announcement as Wasl’s manager. He mentioned that the club are looking to add some big names to their already impressive line-up and had full trust
in the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 manager regarding the recruitment process.
Ahmad Mohammed clearly stated that everything is up to Maradona now and he can decide very well the positions that need to be re-assessed.
He further added, “The choice is purely Maradona’s to make. Of course we will be putting a lot of names on the table, but he will arrive at the club and review and analyse the situation, our strengths and see where we need players and take the decision on
recruiting players.”
The Chief believed that the club would certainly achieve new heights under the legendary Argentinean but thought that Maradona would require sufficient time to settle down at the club.
The club’s Chief Executive also confirmed that there would be a limited number of foreign players coming into the line-up as per the rules of the UAE Pro League.
Mohammed concluded by saying, “We are in negotiations with a lot of players because there has been a lot of interest in wanting to come to Al Wasl now that Maradona has signed up with the club. He will be asking for players and we will buy players to fill
the spaces, which he feels are best suited for the club.”
Al Wasl already have the likes of Spanish midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edson-Puch-c12014, will be joining the club from the 2011/12 season along with a few other
names.
One thing to take note of is the fact that only three foreign players are allowed to appear on the pitch during one match of the UAE Pro League.
