Alabama Crimson Tide’s Jones should be back for Saturday
Alabama Crimson Tide’s Julio Jones is said to be healing nicely and should be in full health by the time the Crimson Tide take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.
Jones suffered an injury in Alabama’s win over the Florida Gators last week and was forced out of the game. Early in the week it was revealed that Jones was battling a bruised knee. The youngster has been feeling out the injury throughout the early part
of the week. Crimson Tide head coach Nick Sabban says that Jones’ knee is coming along nicely and they hope for him to have full mobility by Friday.
The Crimson Tide will be keen on getting Jones back for the weekend as he is currently the club’s leading receiver. Moreover, the squad has had trouble moving the ball through the air this season. Alabama is currently ranked 17th in rushing yards,
16th in points-for and first in points against, however they fall short in their passing game, sitting 46th in the country, in the category. Losing Jones for an important conference game would certainly make it more difficult for them
to throw the ball.
The Crimson Tide are likely to face injury such as Jones’ throughout the season. The squad does not have a week off until the very end of the schedule. In addition, as national champions they have the most difficult and demanding schedule in the country.
Having already come off games against teams such as, Penn State, Arkansas, and Florida and with games still remaining against South Carolina, LSU and Auburn, many are worried the Crimson Tide may get tired late in the season.
So far this year with Alabama, Jones has managed 24 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns.
