Les Pitchouns coach is pleased with the way Le Tef played against FC Sochaux to claim all three points at Stadium Municipal on Sunday
Toulouse registered their 7th win of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign at the expense of FC Sochaux-Montbeliard at the weekend, and the club coach is pleased with the manner of the victory.
While talking to reporters, the 51-year-old stated that his side looked in a hurry to finish things off and they deservedly won in the end. Winning three points was the target, and to end the year on a winning note has pleased the coach to great extent.
"There was certain urgency for us to get the three points.”
The Frenchman said that Les Pitchouns totally dominated their opponents and they were in control of the game from the very first whistle. However, the boss feels that his side wasn’t as accurate as it should have been but is pleased with the overall performance
nonetheless.
“We wholly deserved the win as we were never in danger. We perhaps lacked a little accuracy, and could've given ourselves breathing space a little earlier.”
Talking about Toulouse’ form in the first half of the campaign, Casanova said that in the first ten games of the season, TFC played really well. But after that, they suffered a slump in their form, as a result of which, Toulouse dropped down the table.
The coach added that Les Pitchouns need to be more consistent when the season restarts after the winter break in order to reach the upper half of the table.
“We played really well for ten games, got 19 points, and then blew hot and cold over the next nine games. We're still in touch with the top half of the table, but we'll need to be more consistent after the break."
Meanwhile, Sochaux coach, Eric Hely has no excuses about his side’s poor performance on Sunday. The boss is of the view that his side didn’t have enough power in their ranks to trouble the hosts on the pitch.
"We had a bad game, but that is about our limit at the moment. We didn't have enough power to trouble Toulouse.”
