The Toulouse boss feels that Les Pitchouns gifted three points to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 on Tuesday and TFC were the catalyst of their own defeat at Grand Stade Lille Metropole
After an impressive start to the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751 have been struggling lately and their recent dip in form has seen them slip to 11th place in the Ligue 1 standings with 23 points on the table at the end of Week 17.
And club coach, Alain Casanova has admitted that the situation is far from pleasing and has lamented Tuesday’s defeat at the hands of LOSC Lille.
While talking to reporters, the 51-year-old tactician state that it was a very ordinary performance from his side and they failed to grab their chances out on the pitch. The boss said that Lille played really well and they deserve credit for that but Toulouse
should have done better to get back in the game after conceding the first goal.
After LOSC’s first goal, TFC failed to hit back and according to the coach, Lille took full advantage of the situation and they piled pressure on the visitors.
"I think we missed out at certain key moments. At 1-0 we had the chance to equalise, after that we left ourselves open and exposed to them getting in behind us.”
Casanova added that the second goal killed the game and his side’s inability to produce quality football in the final third, is a worrying factor. The coach said that Toulouse had their chances on the pitch but they failed to take full advantage of the situation.
“I said to myself that even we'd equalise and might go on to win, or we'd concede a second. We defended quite well but we weren't precise enough in the final thirty meters. There were one or two situations we didn't exploit well enough.”
Talking about his side’s slump in form, the Frenchman said that Les Pitchouns need to get back to winning ways as early as possible and is eying maximum points in the upcoming two matches.
“We're not on a good run but we've got two home matches before the winter break in which to try to pick up points."
