The 51-year-old tactician feels that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751 were unlucky to end on the losing side and the decisions taken by the referee didn’t help their case either
Les Pitchouns were defeated at home at the hands of title hopefuls, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, but the nature of the defeat has put Toulouse boss in a foul mood.
While talking to reporters at a press conference after the match, Alain Casanova stated that his side gave everything on the pitch and it is cruel to end up on the losing side. The coach said that everyone at the club is far from pleased with Saturday’s
result and Toulouse deserved at least a point from that game.
"It is really cruel given the energy we put in, and the defensive rigour, this is a really tough defeat to take.”
Talking about the decisions taken by the referee, Casanova said that his side was reduced to 9 men before the final whistle and despite that, Toulouse played really well and the players deserve credit for that.
The 51-year-old added that Les Pitchouns started the game really well but after the first sending off, things got tough for his side and after the second red card, Toulouse lost any hope they had before.
“Before the (first) red card, we had started the game well but at ten against 11, it was difficult, with nine it became complicated.”
Casanova said that red cards deprived Toulouse a chance to get back to the upper half of the table and losing at home is a hard pill to swallow. However, the boss has refused to comment about the referring and is looking forward to Les Pitchouns’ next game.
“The red cards happened in areas of the field where we need to have more control. The referee who took the decisions is an excellent referee but I am not going to talk about refereeing.”
The Frenchman added that he is disappointed for his players. Players gave their best out there and it is sad to be on the losing end.
“I am frustrated and disappointed for the players. (Ali Ahamada) is a great goalkeeper and a superb goal beat him."
