The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751 coach feels that the goalless draw against SC Bastia at Stadium Municipal on Friday was a fair result and Les Pitchouns should have done more to get maximum point at home
TFC were held to a stalemate by a determined Bastia side and the hosts can consider themselves lucky as Frederic Hantz’s side could have gotten away with maximum points. Both sides had their moment on the pitch but neither of them managed to find the back
of the net.
While talking to reporters after the match, Alain Casanova stated that it was a very ordinary performance from his side but feels that a draw after that kind of performance in not a bad result after all.
The boss said that at the start, Toulouse were very much in control of the game but as the game progressed, they lost the confidence and players lost the ball on a number of occasions. Losing possession rather cheaply allowed Bastia to hit back and they
were looking very dangerous on the attack.
Casanova added that Toulouse are in a good position to qualify for Europe but stressed that such performance won’t help their cause, and has urged the players to return to their best as quickly as possible.
"We missed the boat in the first 30 minutes, because we put them under a lot of pressure. We lost confidence after that, and looked vulnerable as we lost the ball too frequently.”
The boss said that his team made a lot of mistakes on the pitch and they could have lost the game. However, Toulouse are going through a bad patch and coach is confident that TFC will get back to winning ways very soon.
“There were a lot of mistakes, and could even have lost the game, which often happens when you're going through a bad patch.”
Alain Casanova added that a point is a good result nonetheless and Toulouse need to perform really well in the upcoming games in the Ligue 1 to avoid dropping more points.
“We're going to settle for the point. We have to build on that in the two tough games coming up against Lille and Marseille."
