Alamsyah Yunus beats Kwong Beng Chan in Men’s Singles round-of-16 at Malaysia Grand Prix Gold
Indonesia’s talented player Alamsyah Yunus remained consistent in his impressive run as he reached into Men’s Singles quarter-final after winning the round-of-16 battle against his local rival Kwong Beng Chan at the Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Grand Prix Gold

The impressive Yunus, who is the 12th seeded shuttler in Men’s Singles main round of this GP Gold championship, showed his aggression on court and remained successful in showing exit to his Malaysian opponent while consuming 45 minutes on court.
Indonesian shuttler worked hard against Kwong Beng who had the support of home fans. However, it was Yunus who continued his winning streak and finished up the battle in two sets with a comfortable 21-16 and 21-16 total on score board.
The un-seeded Kwong Beng, on the contrary, tried to put up strong show but failed to control the pace of rallies at the crucial stages. He committed unforced errors at the ending stage and lost the match with a respectable difference.
Yunus showed a wonderful aggression on court from the initial points of first game by building a remarkable pressure on his opponent.
The tempo of the rallies was quite fast in first game and Yunus impressed local crowd with his incredible skills.
Until the end of first part of opening game, the in-form Yunus attained a strong position on board by setting up a sufficient gap.
The battle proceeded in the same fashion after the mid-game interval as Yunus did not lose his focus in the arena.
It was an uninterrupted ride for the in-form Yunus who did not face any considerable fight from his opponent and won the first game with a reasonable 21-16 difference on the board.
Things were not much different in the second set of this entertaining contest as Yunus played in the similar attacking fashion.
The perfectly executed smashes and wonderful net play kept Yunus ahead of his challenger all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.
Yunus was quick and positive in the arena in the ending points of second set and won the second set with a comfortable margin of 21-16.
