Alamsyah Yunus thrashes Yu Jui Lin in Men’s Singles first round of 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open
Indonesia’s young and talented player, Alamsyah Yunus proved his worth by beating Chinese Taipei’s Yu Jui Lin in the first round of Men’s Singles category at the 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open in Sinjhuang City, on Wednesday, September7.
Yunus is currently enjoying 30th position in the world rankings of Men’s Singles. He is also the 11th seed in the Men’s Singles draw in the Taipei Open. The Indonesian played terrific badminton in his first match against the local shuttler
and finished it in striking fashion. He won the match in straight sets by working in the court for just 32 minutes.
The higher ranked Indonesian opened his campaign against the Taipei shuttler in incredible manner as he rushed towards the ending points of the match in a flash. Yu Jui found himself completely helpless against the aggressive play of the Indonesian and remained
miles behind at 5-11 until the interval in the first game.
After the break, Yunus played at the same level and remained fully focused in the second part of the game. Yu Jui failed to play his normal game as his opponent was playing with variations in his strokes. The Indonesian played a far better game as compared
to his rival and won the opening game after a one-sided fight with the margin of 21-9, in just 13 minutes.
However, the second set of the match was a wonderful fight between both youngsters. They remained toe-to-toe in the opening points and a wonderful exchange of attacking rallies made the local crowd more excited. Until the interval, the higher ranked Indonesian
was in a slightly better position by reaching 11-10.
After the break, Yunus played with precision this time as he geared up the pace of the rallies to push his challenger in a defensive position. His powerful smashes coupled with fast and deceptive drop shots helped him in winning the set with a 21-18 score,
in 19 minutes. This 32-minute Men’s Singles fight finished off in straight games by a 21-9 and 21-18 score.
