Alan Belcher: I will prove I am the best by nailing Vitor Belfort – UFC News
Alan Belcher is focussing on colliding with Vitor Belfort, the former Cage Rage Light Heavyweight champion. In a recent media interaction, Alan commented that in order to analyse his own abilities he must collide with Vitor Belfort, adding that if he loses
he will be wrong about him being the best.
Belcher, 28, is one of the rising American mixed martial artists in UFC’s middleweight division who seems to be interested in increasing their worth by collecting high-profile wins so as to become a part of the title contention scenario.
The aforementioned reason is quite genuine as Alan has proved in his last three bouts that he is improving day-by-day and therefore should be dubbed as a significant threat in the division.
Alan shared his thoughts in a letter addressed to Tatame, one of the best and authentic sources of mixed martial art news. Belcher, also known as ‘The Talent’, commented that with his recent wins over Rousimar Palhares, Jason MacDonald and Patrick Cote,
he feels he is ready to collide with former UFC number one middleweight title contender.
The Arkansas hailing lad was of the view that it will be the biggest bout of his career, adding that it will aid him in proving that he is the best as he can nail the best.
Alan stated, “I am working on it. I want Vitor. It makes sense, but he has to agree. It would be the biggest fight of my career. He needs to fight me to be the best right now. He knows it but is smart, he knows I am hard to beat. I would appreciate the opportunity
and take the fight very seriously.”
Belcher moved on and further added that his rankings make him feel that he needs to prove his worth, adding that he will prove this fact by winning over Vitor and if he fails to do so, his expectations will all be wrong.
Alan commented, “He is the best fighter in the division and most dangerous. My ranking, I feel I am the best. I will fight to prove it. If I lose, then I'm wrong.” Belcher recently collected an impressive win over Rousimar via technical knockout but still
it is not enough to be the best as the middleweight division is stacked with men who are top-notch brawlers who have undergone several bouts to become the number on contender.
