Alan Donnellan looking forward to win fourth professional fight against Ricky Boulter – Boxing news
The Craughwell’s pugilist Alan Donnellan, who has previously won all of his three fights, is now looking forward to win his fourth professional fight against the Englishman Ricky Boulter on June 18, 2011.
The 23-year-old light middleweight Alan Donnellan will take on Ricky Boulter next Saturday in ‘The Fighting West’ tournament for the super middleweight event in Leisureland, Salthill.
Donnellan, who previously clobbered the likes of Ryan Clark, Lester Walsh and Zahari Mutafchiev, admits that his opponent is tricky and awkward.
The Ireland’s boxer, Donnellan, told the media, “Ricky is about as tricky and as awkward as you could get. Essentially, he is a fighter. If he is in with top level fighters, he will give them a terribly awkward time of it. He is more than just a stepping
stone.”
Donnellan, who has also been a Rugby player, knows that winning this fight will enhance his reputation on the national and international circuit. He stated he will only focus on performing at his best. He added he will not worry about his opponent’s style,
coach or record but rather will concentrate on his own performance, which he thinks is enough.
While speaking on his conclusion, he commented, “What I have to do, though, is focus on being the best Alan Donnellan I can be against a Southpaw and not worry about his record, his origins, his training partners or anything like that. I am just concentrating
on being the best possible boxer I can be, and I am hugely looking forward to this fight.”
The 31-year-old southpaw, Ricky Boulter, has only won 1 fight out of a total of 15 fights whereas Donnellan has never been defeated as of yet. Therefore, the Irish will enter the ring as a heavy favourite.
However, we will have to wait and see if Donnellan can win this fight or not, as Walden is a boxer who can take a lot of punishment.
