Newcastle United’s manager has accepted that his team is aiming to make it to the UEFA Champions League for next season but to do that they will need to win all their remaining matches as they are level on points with Tottenham
Hotspur at the moment…
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has admitted that Newcastle United are aiming to make it to next season’s UEFA Champions League competition. Earlier on in the season, Pardew had denied such claims as he had repeatedly stated that his team were doing
the best that they could and in doing so if they made it to the UEFA Champions League, then so be it.  Pardew’s team have benefitted massively from Hatem Ben Arfa’s return to fitness and form for the Tyneside club.
The Frenchman has been exquisite to say the least and his goals and assists now mean that Newcastle United are level on points with Tottenham in the Premier League standings. Not only that, Tottenham are now on the back foot due
to the pressure that is being exerted on them by Newcastle’s fine form and Spurs are losing ground in the league table. Pardew will hope that his team continue their fine run of form but they do have some tough fixtures coming up for them like the one against
Manchester City.
Pardew said, "I have never actually ruled it out. You guys kept saying to me, 'Are you going to make the Champions League?', and I said we were just looking to win the next game. But look, it's not gone unnoticed. This week could
be important for us because if the [FA Cup] semi-final results go our way, we could be in Europe, I think, by next weekend.”
He added, "If that works in our favor, then really, really there is nothing left to go for but the Champions League. That's important to us, the semi-finals, we will be looking at them because we are up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for that
Europa League place if the results go against us, and that's still very, very tough on us. To have this points total and not make Europe would be tough to take, so we have got to keep our eye on the ball, and we ain't giving up on anything - apart from winning
it."
