Newcastle United boss, Alan Pardew, has expressed his disappointment on the lack of cutting edge the Magpies exhibited in the recent defeat against the league leaders, Manchester City.
The Tyneside club have made an excellent start to the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season. Pardew’s men were undefeated in their first 11 games before they visited the only other unbeaten side in the league, Manchester City.
Despite being the underdogs, Newcastle United started the game impressively at the Etihad Stadium. After strings of attacks from Manchester City, the visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 played an inch perfect pass to Demba
Ba in the opposition penalty box. However, the Senegalese attacker failed to make full use of the opportunity.
City made Alan Pardew’s men pay for their missed chances, as the hosts went on to score two goals through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero extended the lead from the penalty spot in the last half before

The defeat at Etihad Stadium ended Magpies’ dreamy unbeaten streak in the Premier League, and Alan Pardew has rued his side’s missed chances.
The Toons’ boss believes that the final result of the match could have been different had his side made full use of the opportunities provided to them.
Pardew told the reporters, “I thought we had situations in the game where it could’ve been a different afternoon. We had two big chances at 0-0 and when you are playing a side as powerful as Man City, you need breaks to go your way.”
The Newcastle manager believes it was very difficult for his side to get back into the game after Manchester City extended their lead to two goals, and added:
“Once they got the two goals there was a confident air about them and they made it difficult but again we rallied and had a big, big chance at 2-0 and if that had gone in then maybe the mood in the stadium would have changed but it didn’t really go for us
today.”
Newcastle United are currently placed fourth in the league standings with 25 points from 12 fixtures.
