Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s Luis Suarez in the 1-1 draw at Anfield last night.
The Magpies boss also labelled the sending off that resulted after the tackle as harsh, and believes the player was unlucky to have seen a red card.
Liverpool hosted the Magpies at Anfield last night, and had gone a goal down in the first half when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423 fired home a ferociously struck volley past goalkeeper Brad Jones.
Having experienced poor home form this season, Liverpool once again found themselves on the back foot. The Reds then spent the remainder of the game trying to get back into the game as Newcastle tried to keep them out.
Newcastle conceded a goal during the 60-minute mark when Jose Enrique lobbed a spectacular long ball towards Luis Suarez who finished it off brilliantly. The Uruguayan controlled it superbly and beat Toon goalkeeper Tim Krul with much ease before passing
the ball into the empty net.
The talking point of the game was perhaps the Coloccini sending off in the 84th minute. The Argentinian had been shown a yellow card early on, and was given a warning before he rushed into a reckless and dangerous tackle, which forced the referee
to draw out a red card.
Many had labelled the tackle deliberate and malicious, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Coleman calling it a ‘coward’s challenge’.
Manager Alan Pardew however holds a different opinion and has rushed to his player’s defence, saying that Coloccini is not the sort of player who would deliberately set out to injure an opponent. Speaking to reporters, Pardew said:
“Looking at it on the video, it doesn't look too good from one angle. But from another angle, he is putting his foot down to stop himself. Knowing Colo as I do, there is no malicious intent there. We might have to accept (the ban) but I will discuss it further
with my secretary.”
“Part of me knows there is no intent with Colo. But the other part of me feels that we have got nowhere to go. My feeling is that we won't (appeal) but I want to sit down with people at the club to have a look at it a few more times.”
