Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew, has expressed his contentment on the way his current squad is shaping up for the upcoming 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season.
Newcastle earned Barclays Premier League promotion by winning the npower championship 2009/12 and finished an impressive 12th in league standings last season. The Toons want to establish themselves in the Barclays Premier League and have already
started their transfer campaign.
Newcastle United have signed the highly-rated midfielder, Yohan Cabaye, from French Champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 of West Ham United and Renne’s Sylvain Marveaux on a Bosman transfer.
Furthermore, the highly-rated French midfielder, Hatem Ben Arfa has also recovered from the career threatening leg injury which he suffered while playing against Manchester City last season. Along with Arfa, Dan Gosling also recovered from cruciate ligament
after being on sidelines for the entire season.
Alan Pardew believes that he has got five new players to work with and is pleased with the progress of his squad.
“I am really pleased with the way the squad is taking shape. I'm excited. You could say we have got five new players who we didn't have last year,” said Pardew.
Newcastle United’s influential skipper, Kevin Nolan, who played a huge part in brining the Toons back into the Barclays Premier League, has joined West Ham United after failing to agree a new deal with the Magpies. Pardew believes that Nolan’s departure
is a big loss for the club but reckons that the new signing will be able to replace him.

Ben Arfa was signed from Marseille last season and was tipped to be one of the big stars at St. James Park, but a horrendous
injury ended his season prematurely.
Pardew believes that Hatem Ben Arfa is a huge asset to the club and expects the Frenchman to shine the upcoming term.
“Hatem could be the best signing if he stays fit all year, and we are looking forward to seeing what Dan can do as well,” added Pardew.
Ben Arfa scored a goal in his only four appearances for Newcastle United last season.
