Alan Pardew pleased with Newcastle’s season – English Premier League news
Newcastle United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew, has claimed that he is more than satisfied with the way things have gone for the club this season. The Magpies are set to finish the Barclays Premier League campaign in a comfortable mid-table position, something that
Pardew believes is a fantastic achievement for the newly promoted side.
The past year has been a rollercoaster ride for everyone involved at the club. The Magpies won the 2009/10 Coca Cola Championship to ensure their participation in the Barclays Premier League this season, but they had to endure a rocky start to their campaign
in the top flight. A string of poor results ultimately resulted in the departure of beloved manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton, near the end of 2010.
New manager, Alan Pardew, arrived at a time when the club was in turmoil. He has done wonders during his short time in charge at St. James’ Park. Newcastle have recovered from their sputtering start to the season, and they recently ensured their continued
presence in the Barclays Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Birmingham City on the 7th of May.
When asked to rate the performance of the club this season, Pardew responded, “Including Chris' (Hughton) time as manager here, you would have to give it an eight (out of ten). In terms of the expectations and the amount of finance that was spent in the
summer, the fact that we lost Hatem [Ben Arfa] to a broken leg, that we sold Andy Carroll, yes, I would give it as high as that."
Pardew’s arrival at the helm was not exactly well received, but he has since earned the respect of both the players and the supporters, and he is excited at the prospect of leading the club into the next English Premier League campaign.
The Newcastle boss concluded, “He said: "I can only talk from my personal fulfilment as a football manager at a great club, and it has been fantastic on that front. People have been tremendous and the players and the squad and the staff here - I have got
to be honest, I think we have pulled above our weight and long may that continue."
The Magpies are currently in 12th place in the Barclays Premier League standings.
