Newcastle United’s manager praises his front man for leading the way in Newcastle’s 3-0 win over the English Premier League champions...
Pardew’s men gained a vital 3-0 win over Manchester United in the English Premier League last night as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men failed to cope with Demba Ba’s movement as well as Shola Ameobi’s aerial strength. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 and Rio
Ferdinand partnered each other in central defence for Manchester United but they struggled all night to contain Demba Ba’s pace whose movement and a fine finish resulted in Newcastle United’s first goal of the encounter.
It was Jones’ impatience which resulted in a free kick for Newcastle in the second half, something that Cabaye capitalized on and executed a marvellous free kick which doubled the home team’s advantage. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s team
failed to come back into the match in the end and their defensive shortcomings were eventually highlighted by Jones’ own goal when he headed the ball past his own goalkeeper to cap off a miserable night for the Red Devils.
Pardew said in his post match comments, “Outside his goal, which was top-class, Demba’s all-round performance was outstanding. He picked it up in the hole, he went behind, he put himself in the firing line and he was aggressive
in the air. It was as good a performance as he has put in. It is difficult to compare him to others strikers in the Premier League because he hasn’t had too much time here in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 but this year you would have to put him in the top four or five.”
He added, “His biggest asset is his personality – he is a winner. Whatever role I have given him he has always tried to do to the best of his ability. His all-round performances have been excellent and tonight he was a leader and
he put in a performance to match that. You could argue that Demba is irreplaceable but people thought that would be the case when Andy Carroll left last year and we didn’t do too badly without him but I am not going to hide away from the fact that Demba and
Cheik Tiote were outstanding for us so we will miss them.”
