Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is relishing the Wear-Tyne derby this Sunday as he prepares his team to travel to the Stadium of Light.
The manager’s unbeaten record in the North-East derbies will give him confidence going into the significant fixture. The manager admitted that while it’s always difficult travelling to Sunderland and playing against them, he revels in the hostile environment
and atmosphere of the Stadium of Light.
The manager was denied three points against Sunderland two seasons ago on his first visit to Wearside by a late http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Asamoah-Gyan-c6791 equalizer, but has since managed wins over Newcastle’s fierce local rivals. The manager tasted victory on opposition soil last season
when Ryan Taylor scored a free-kick, sealing a win for the Magpies.
Pardew had been involved in a fierce touchline spat with his counterpart Martin O’Neill in the reverse fixture the same season, but has since settled his differences with the Sunderland manager. However, he is eager to renew the rivalry as he travels to
Wearside this weekend.
He will be looking to extend his three-game unbeaten run over Sunderland following his take over from former Magpie boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton in 2010. This Sunday, Pardew will face O’Neill again as both managers will look to assert their dominance over the other.
The manager said that he enjoys the rivalry and can’t wait to feel the atmosphere. Speaking to the press, he said:
“The derby games are electric games. I can’t wait for it. The games over there have so much electricity. I can’t really explain to people.”
Both managers will be boosted by the return of their key players from injury following the lengthy 2 week international break. Pardew is hopeful of the return of defenders Steven Taylor and captain Fabricio Coloccini.
Midfielders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423 and Cheick Tiote are also expected to feature in the derby, and Pardew will be confident going into the game with a strong starting 11. He added:
“I am not looking for excuses but we have not really been able to pick the same team in too many games because of injuries. We had a nice run last year because we were fortunate in terms of injuries, this year not so much.”
