http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has remained cautious of his team’s chances of playing in next season’s UEFA Champions League this Premier League campaign as the Englishman almost gave up the hope of Newcastle making it into the top four teams of
the Premier League when the Magpies lost to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 earlier on in the month.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 vying for two places in the top four spots, the going is already tough but there is no doubt that Newcastle United can surprise the big boys with the likes of Ben Arfa, Cisse
and Cabaye in their offensive line up. Not only that, the Magpies can still have a drastic impact on the outcome of the Premier League title race itself. Pardew’s men still have to host Manchester City at the Saint James’ Park stadium in April but it remains
to be seen how that tie will progress.
Pardew said after his team’s fantastic win over West Brom, “Are we Champions League contenders? I don't think so. The last 10 games are the most important ones in any season and we've won the first two of those. There are a lot
of games left, a lot of points. But I don't think we've got the depth of squad to challenge for that (a Champions League place). I get told the fans might be thinking 'this is on' - but not me."
He added by elaborating on Ben Arfa’s form as he said, "There are not many players who can do what he can do and it might be a nice wild card for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 to have him in the squad. He really has knuckled down and there is a much
more controlled person in his manner and the way he is around the training ground. I can say that publicly so it registers with the French manager. In the past in France there was some reputation that he was an 'enfant terrible' but not here.”
