Barton came under fire after the English midfielder publically blasted Newcastle United’s board policies and threatened to reveal the club’s secrets. As a result of his comments, the Tyneside club decided to put him on the transfer list and are willing to
let Barton leave the club for free transfer.
The manager has insisted that there has been no progress in Barton’s relationship with the club board members. Pardew sees the English midfielder as one of the best players in his squad and wants to keep hold of Barton.

The Magpies’ manager has asserted that Barton will have to understand and respect club’s policies and if he does not agree with the board’s strategy of running then he will for sure leave the Newcastle United in the current summer transfer window.
However, Pardew is optimistic that he will able to convince the former Manchester City midfielder to stay at the Tyneside club as the Magpies manager has confirmed that he will hold talks with Barton in next few days.
“Joey needs to buy into what we’re doing; if he doesn’t see that he’ll probably go. So we’re all taking some time out but we’ll resurface next week but for sure me and Joey will have a couple of chats and we’ll go from there," the Toon’s manager added.
Moreover, the Magpies manager also confirmed Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-c14281 Obertan’s imminent arrival at St. James Park. Pardew revealed that the French winger will undergo a medical next week before being unveiled as a Newcastle United player.
“He has to come through a medical; he’ll probably have that next week. I’m looking forward to him joining the club and hopefully that will all go smoothly,” Alan Pardew concluded.
Obertan is likely to be Newcastle United’s last signing of the current summer transfer window. The Magpies have already signed three French players this summer.
