Alan Pardew unfazed by Carroll speculation
The Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew has had to fend off rumours concerning his team’s top striker with a move away from the club. With the January transfer window looming closer, speculation suggesting that Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 will prepare to make
a move for the English player, has reached its peak.
The Newcastle boss claimed that there was little reason for other clubs to not focus their interest on Carroll, as the recent England international has been in exceptional form this season, having netted a total of ten goals so far this season for the Magpies.
The former West Ham and Charlton manager stated “It does get boring but it is not going to stop - it will never stop, it will not stop simply because he's a talent and that happens at the big clubs.”
The 21 year old has been the subject of praise from his teammates and manager alike, despite his off the pitch conduct. Carroll was charged earlier on this season for assault and one of the requirements concerning his bail was striker having to live with
Kevin Nolan, the Newcastle skipper.
Pardew praised Carroll and explained that the Magpies would not be enticed into selling the Englishman to any club, stating that Newcastle must adopt a “big-club mentality” and retain the services of the efficient striker. Carroll was a Newcastle supporter
since his childhood and Pardew feels there is no reason to suggest he is unhappy at St James’ Park, particularly now that the player made his international debut for England in November after catching the attention of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello (the England team’s manager)
while playing for Newcastle.
The 21-year-old has a total of 101 club appearances despite his young age, 89 of which he played during League matches and 8 for F.A cup matches. He has made five appearances for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 side and one appearance so far this season for England
in their match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. In his career so far, the English striker has struck home 33 times, two goals of which were in F.A cup matches and the rest during League games. He has made eighteen appearances for the Magpies so far, playing in 17 Premier League
matches and scoring ten goals, as well as picking up three yellow cards.
The Gateshead born player recently penned in a new deal with Newcastle this season, which will keep him in the Toons squad for five years. Carroll stated his delight after signing the contract in October, saying “All I have ever wanted to do is play for
Newcastle United. He further reiterated his loyalty to the Toon team, explaining, "that's been the case since I was a teenager, playing in the juniors and reserves, and it's still the same now."
Dennis Wise, the former director of football at Newcastle United explained to Dan Walker on BBC Focus Forum, that he is mainly responsible for ensuring the striker’s stay at St James’s Park. The 44-year-old Wise stated that “We had an offer and I said no
- the boy was the future of the club. Some people agreed and some did not.” Wise left Newcastle in April of last year after serving in his position for 14 months. The current boss of St James’ Park, Pardew was appointed recently this season, after former manager
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Hughton was infamously given his marching orders despite securing the team a position away from the relegation zone in the Barclays Premier League table.
While in charge of the Magpies, Hughton piled praise on Carroll, especially after a match against Arsenal, in which the Toons reigned triumphant over the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in November. The striker’s header was the only goal of the match and
Hughton described Carroll as a “mentally very strong” player. He acknowledged his inexperience but felt that the England international was in his vital development stages as a player and certainly on the right track and even hinted that Carroll’s peak in form
was yet to arrive by saying “He has still got a long way to go.”
