Alan Pardew unhappy with Newcastle United’s performance against Leeds United – EPL News
Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is not pleased with his sides’ result against Leeds United and has stated that the Magpies gave a ‘shabby’ performance in the 3-2 pre-season friendly defeat to the championship side.
The Toon conceded an early goal as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-c29254 Kisnorbo scored in the fifth minute to put Leeds United ahead. Steven Taylor levelled the score on the 35th minute mark but Leeds United got ahead through Lloyd Sam in the 67th minute.
Haris Vuckic drew the scores level in the 76th minute but an 85th minute header from Billy Paynter sealed a historic victory for Leeds United.
The manager was utterly disappointed with his team’s performance and has claimed that the Magpies’ defence was exploited due to individual errors.

Pardew told Newcastle United’s official website, “We gave away three really bad goals, and the first two were individual errors.”

The former Southampton boss believes that Leeds United’s fifth minute goal set the tone for Newcastle United’s below-par performances. The Magpies manager stated that Erickson’s men were more focused than his team. The 50-year-old reckons that his team had
more quality in every aspect of the game but the players were not fully focused which led to the disappointing result.
"The first goal in particular set the tone for a shabby performance from us. Leeds' focus was better. We were the better team but we didn't have the focus we needed against them today, and those mistakes cost us the result,” Pardew added.
Newcastle United recently completed their tour of the US but Alan Pardew claimed that he has learnt more about the individual players in this recent friendly against Leeds United.

"Sometimes in a game like that you learn more, and I've learnt more about individual players today than I have all pre-season," the tactician concluded.

Newcastle United’s next match will be a Barclays Premier League fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 at St. James Park on August 13, 2011. The Magpies boast a decent record against Arsene Wenger’s men at their home. The last time these two sides met, the Toon marked a historical
comeback as they drew the match 4-4 after being four goals down in the first half.
