Alan Plavin tames Primoz Flis in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Slovak Open
Lithuania’s budding shuttler Alan Plavin showed a staggering performance in Men’s Singles qualifying round when he stamped his mark over Slovenia’s Primoz Flis at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 on Thursday, September 6, 2012.
The un-seeded Alan, who has been putting in extra effort in training sessions for the last few months, played to his maximum potential and eventually remained successful in giving a severe treatment to his Slovenian rival without facing any trouble.
The in-form Alan played with remarkable speed and precision as he did not let his rival to put up strong show at any stage and managed to end up this interesting battle in straight sets by putting up a convincing score on the board.
On the other hand, Primoz also tried to put up strong show and he remained successful in pushing his rival in all areas of the court. But he could not continue his aggressive run in the concluding points of both games and lost the match with a reasonable
margin.
The first game of this battle was absolutely fantastic as both shuttlers played to their best speed and continued playing in the similar fashion without showing any sign of pressure.
However, the Lithuanian shuttler changed his strategy and started to keep the bird low from net. This changed plan worked in his favour and he took a reasonable lead until the end of first half.
After the mid-game interval, the impressive Alan continued his convincing play on court and he remained successful in finishing off the first game with a four-point advantage of 21-17.
The second game was again thrilling in opening points when both players showed their aggression on court and remained close on score board until the end of first half.
The spirited Alan showed a great performance after the mid-game interval as he played with precision and pushed his opponent on back foot. He remained passionate on court and easily wrapped up the second set with a 21-16 score on the board.
The incredible Alan won this Men’s Singles qualifying round contest in straight sets with a superb margin of 21-17 and 21-16.
