We are taking a Princess cruise in July from Vancouver to Anchorage with three kids (ages 11 & 14 (twins)). Which shore excursions would be best to choose?

  1. Call whoever you booked your cruise with for an excursions brouchure. It will explain not only cost but, how long and some include snacks or lunch. The helicopter althou very nice for a family of 5 would be costly and only last half an hour. Whale watching only ones  guaranteed. You pay $125.00 each & if you do not see a whale you get $100.00 each back. Glaicer tours are nice as are train trips. Look over brouchure and decide what your family likes. Include kids in choices.

  2. I did an Alaskan cruise with my dad last summer (I'm 21, he's 43); we were on Royal Caribbean but Princess was at every port with us so I doubt you're excursion choices will be much different. We absolutely loved the whale watching excursion... everyone from the six year olds to the grandparents on the boat loved it too. But our absolute favorite was the helicopter ride... it was a little scary (it's a very different feeling) but nothing beats seeing the mountains and wildlife from the air... if you have the chance to do that, I highly recommend it.
