  1. because most peoples education on Alaska begins and ends with cartoons.  back in the 70's cartoons were all about Eskimo's and polar bears.  h**l look at the Simpson's movie, another sad attempt of misguidance.

  2. x = amount of 10% acid solution

    .10x = amount of acid in the 10% acid solution

    .60(20) = amount of acid in the 60% acid solution

    20 + x = amount of the mixture

    .10x + .60(20) = .30(20+x)

    .10x + 12 = 6 + .30x

    6 = .20x

    x = 30 L

    hope it helps :-)

  3. Aye, us Canadians get the same stereotypes, too. However, we have polar bears as far south as Northern Ontario (on the banks of Hudson Bay), temperatures can get past -50 degrees Celsius in the winter time quite frequently, and we always get a ton of snow. To those who haven't been to Canada, they don't realize that in the summer, temperature have been known to exceed 40 degrees Celsius - which is extremely hot. That's a temperature difference of about 90 degrees Celsius.

    Don't let the stereotypes bother you. Take them in stride as what they are - jokes. As long as they aren't offensive to anyone, it's alright.

  4. either that is all people know for sure about Alaska or its because those aspects are the most "famous".

    plus, to many other people, 60s and 70s is still pretty cold. (not everyone, but many others). and one more thing, glaciers are usually associated with ice, which is assosiated with cold. high mountains are too (i think)

  5. Because that is all people know about Alaska. I have been to Alaska, and i loved it! What is a Fjord??? I saw that on the Sims, and i don't know what it is!!! Its bugging the c**p out of me... lol
