  1. All cruise lines that sail to Alaska as well as every place else has plenty of things to do for everyone. If you are just going for a 7 day cruise then;

    Norwegian- casual attire,great food,service etc.

    Princess- casual attire,great food,service etc.

    Holland - first class all the way, sports casual & formal etc.

    If you have the time a cruisetour is the best way to really see ALASKA- more wildlife, amazing scenery, Denali National Park at must, Fairbanks & the sternwheeler cruise.

    Cruisetour Princess - only line to put you up in 5 star lodges. Which ever you choose you will never forget it.

    Enjoy.

  2. If money is no problem, then you would probably want to take one of the "luxury" lines - Seaborn, Radisson, etc - because they have smaller ships and can go into smaller ports and cruise closer to icebergs, etc.  I don't know which of the luxury lines sail to Alaska, but if you go to VacationsToGo.com, you can looks up cruises by destination.

    If you want to have an upscale cruise without spending megabucks, go for one of the "premium" lines - Celebrity or Holland America.  Princess is also sometimes classified as a "premium" line.  Those lines offer a calmer, classier experience than the "mass-market" lines like Carnival or Royal or Norwegian.

    To get a feel for what the different lines are like, there are books on cruising at your library or bookstore, or you could go to travel websites like Fodor's or Frommer's.  Also, try CruiseCritic.com, click on "Reviews", and then you can choose either professional reviews or member reviews [definitely gives you a range of opinions, which you can match with what you are looking for].

    On most cruises, I'd advise going for an inside or ocean-view cabin, to save money.  But many people recommend a balcony cabin in Alaska because you can sit in private and watch the scenery go by - if you're on the side of the ship that's passing scenery.

    Hope you find just the cruise you want!

  3. I've taken 8 cruises with Princess and my very favorite was to Alaska on a cruise/tour. That was where I spent 4 days in the interior of Alaska, then got on the ship for 7 days of cruising. Princess is really great for this because they own there own lodges in various places in Alaska. There are very highly rated also on there shore excursions which they offer. My favorite shore excursion was on the white pass railroad out of Jueneo. Glacier bay was spectacular and Princess spends pretty much the whole day in Glacier bay. Really great.

  4. There are several great cruise lines to chose from. For GREAT deals please go to www.trussvilletravel.com. If you have any questions go to www.ytb.com/trussvilletravel and email me. Hope this helps

  5. i've never been on a cruise but my fiance and i are going on an alaskan cruise next month for our honeymoon and will be cruising with Royal Caribbean.

    i've heard a lot of people say they like RC, Princess, or Holland America for Alaska cruises but beware of Holland because it doesn't have nearly as much onboard to do like RC does since it caters to an older, usually retired crowd.

    Just make sure you splurge and get a room with a balcony if possible.
