  1. I think carnival is more geared for kids, NCL is ok but I didnt care for the food much, Royal used to be the best but just came back from one and service was awful, I think Royal has gone down. Princess is very nice as well.

I suggest to go to possibly cruisecritic.com to see what others say.

I would look into Carnival or Princess, You can get a great rate if you contact the agency below.

  2. The best alaskan cruise for kids depends on what you want to do -- are you looking for a cruise ship with the best on-board activities and amenities for kids?  Or a cruise ship that will provide the best experience of Alaska for the kids?

If you're looking for the best on-board experience, the choices would be NCL or Royal Caribbean.  Both cruise lines cater to families and have a wide range of on-board activities for kids.

If you're looking for the best Alaskan experience, with opportunities to get really up close to wildlife and the glaciers, and introductions to the native life styles, a small cruise line like Cruise West or Majestic America would be better.  These ships are registered in the US and not required to make a stop in a "foreign" port (Vancouver) so they also spend more time along the coast of Alaska, rather than spending the time getting there.

The smaller cruise ships can stop in ports where the big ships cannot go -- the "best" parts of Alaska are those with less of a tourist imprint.  The farther North you go, the less people and ships there are.

    Cheers!

  3. For the best all around Alaskan adventure then at an 11 day cruise tour. You will see wildlife from the ship and on land.

Princess offers the best 5 star lodges with tours of Denali National Park and a real paddle wheel cruise in Fairbanks.

Now Holland is the only cruise to offer a cruisetour with just a 3 day cruise.

I have been to Alaska 18 times and have seen the cruisewest boats. They appear dirty and if you compare prices they are twice as much and you get alot less.

If you are just planning a 7 day cruise then I would suggest NCL, out of Seattle.Much easier airport to get around in.

Princess and NCL have more younger families.

    ENJOY.

  4. If you don't like Carnival, Royal Caribbean (RCI) and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) are both family friendly.  So I would choose either RCI or NCL if you don't like Carnival.

Basically you have two choices for an Alaskan cruise.  You can go one way (either north or south) or round trip from either Seattle or Vancouver.  The one way cruises go from Vancouver to Anchorage (or Anchorage to Vancouver).

I think the one way cruises offer a better experience.  However, because you have to fly into and out of different cities, the airfare can be higher.

  5. To answer your question the best part might be Northern Alska like Juneau and I went on Princess which is supposed to be the best alaska cruiseline to mexico and didnt like it. I might try Royal Carribean which is big for there fun things but not sure about alaska. Carnival for me would be ideal because i liked Carnival and have trqaveled with them before and everybody knows about their great things for kids
