So why would Mccain choose her while she is still in an investigation?

Not much of an investigation.  There are bigger fish to fry.  Obama doesn't want to call attention to this and have Steve Schmidt trot out the Rezko ads again.

It would have been smart to avoid somebody under investigation but that just makes it clear that this is a gamble.

Well, some people have been saying for a long time that McCain's mental faculties are questionable. Why else would he pick Palin when she admits on TV that she doesn't even know what a VP does?
