We are going on the Princess cruise to alaska in may. I was wondering if anyone went ziplining? It sounds sooo fun, but I was wondering some more details to it.

  1. I did the Mountain Bike and Zip tour in Juneau. It was a really good work out but was really spectacular beauty and a bloody great day.

We started with the climb which is really high but has unbeatable views. The mountain bikes were top of the line with full suspension, disc brakes etc.

There are plenty of good tours in Juneau but this one was worth while and I recommend it as long as you are resonably fit and not afraid of heights.

  2. I've never been ziplining, but I have been on an Alaskan cruise.  We went the first week of June.  It can still be quite cold, so be sure to pack a winter jacket, gloves, hat... seriously.

The scenery is breathtaking!  Take lots of money too... Alaska is expensive.  If you plan on buying anything on shore you will pay through the nose since everything has to be shipped there via container ship.  Quite often, necessities are cheaper on board.

  3. I didn't know they had a zipline.  I never even heard of one when I went to Alaska.  I have been on one before.  I was in Park City, Utah and they had one from the top of a mountain to the base.  It's really fun.  I would recommend it.  And on a zipline in Alaska,  you would see a ton of animals.  That would be fun.

  4. Ziplining is great. Lots of fun. Alaska is NOT EXPENSIVE. Things on ship cost more. On line check out Alaska Shirt.com for prices. You will see Alaska T-shirt stores. Also Salmom Mall in Ketchikan at end of pier a great place to shop. Weather ranges for 40's to 60's- not that cold.
