Alaskan cruise........?

Question

Going on an Alaskan cruise next week for 7 days. Any idea what type of clothing I will need? Shoes? What activities offshore did you partake in? The more info the better...thanks.

I went on an alaskan cruise 2 years ago, bring jackets if you're going offshore. I went during this time too! it wasn't that cold, but a jacket AND an umbrella is needed. it rains! :D

My Alaskan cruise was in late May and I brought a ski hat and gloves, plus long underwear. I did the cruise/tour thing so I was inland for 4 days first. The long underwear came in handy inland, but I don't think you need them for a seven day cruise. The hat and gloves, yes bring them. Besides, they don't take up much room. Also insect repellent. The mosquito's there are huge. My favorite shore excursion was going on the white pass railroad. That was the best. Loved my Alaskan cruise.

Keeping in mind that it is always alittle cooler on or near the water, alight weight jacket, comfortable sneakers, slacks or jeans-tops whatever you feel comfortable in. As for the weather just type in each port of call like Ketchikan, Juneua or Skagway and it will give you the forecast. As for excursions there are many at each port. The helicopter & seaplanes are nice but, only last about 20 minutes and are close to $300.00 each. There are several different trains excursions at different ports that people like. Whale watching is good just take ones that are guaranteed that way if you do not see a whale you will get your money back. You should have recieved an excursion booklet. Many offer lunch & soda. They sell excursions on the dock as you depart the ship. Look them over on the ship & you can decide once you get into port. I have been there 23 times & you will see wildlife from the deck of the ship. Alot close to the shore line. A Beautiful cruise with Amazing Scenery & you will meet people from all over the world.
