The Captain of English One Day International squad, Alastair Cook, has preferred performance over being the “favourites”, in the forthcoming series against India.
England achieved a whitewash over the visitors by demolishing their opposition 4-0 in the Test series but Cook stressed that his team should not be complacent and concentrate against the world champions.

Cook believed India was still a very good ODI side and has the ability to beat any side of the world and should not be taken lightly.
"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 should enter the series with just one ambition and that was to win against the World Champions, but nothing else," He said.
"We are here to win the series. India are world champions and a very good side. If we win the series, I will be very happy."
England earlier beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 3-2 in the ODI series in June-July, 2011, and the home side had their tails up beating them.
England snatched No.1 Test spot from India by defeating them 4-0, in the Test series and will be anticipating to reach the climax of the ODI table by climbing towards the top spot if they can beat the world champions.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 is at top of the table in the ODI cricket with the rating of 130 with 3894 points, England are placed at No.5 with 2774 points and have a rating of 107.
They have to work really hard to get at the top position and Cook believes beating India comprehensively will be a step towards that.
He claimed, "We will know a lot more about this side after these games. We beat the (World Cup) runners up Sri Lanka and now it's the World Champions. We made some progress against Sri Lanka and now we need to do against a very good side (in India)."
England will try to make an impact on the Indians by winning the first game at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, on September 3, 2011, by winning that encounter and Cook was confident to clinch the series.
