Alastair Cook, the England captain, is jubilant to have qualified for the semi-finals of the last edition of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in their last group match.
Having won the toss in a rain-affected match, the Kiwis opted to field first. The fixture was reduced to 24 overs a side due to persistent rain in the initial half of the day. The hosts rose to the occasion in a do or die match
and posted a competitive total of 169 runs on the board before getting bowled out in the last of their allotted 24 overs.

While expressing his views in the post-match presentation ceremony, the left-handed opening batsman praised the efforts of Williamson and Anderson but Cook believes that his team should have scored some more runs.
"It was quite a stressful day, especially with those last few overs. We thought we were above the rate but Anderson and Williamson took it on, luckily we got over the line. We were very good in the field today and I thought we
were good with the bat, maybe 10 runs short,” he said.
Cook scored an important half-century to help his team’s cause and was named as the Player of the Match.
