Speaking fondly about the newly appointed skipper, Grayson said, “Cooky is one of those lads. The bigger challenge you put in front of him, the more he raises his game. We have always believed that he can play white ball cricket.
Good players find a way to score runs in any conditions and in any format. I think he has answered one or two of his critics.”

“He doesn't talk about what people say about him. He just gets on with his business and let his cricket do the talking. People get obsessed with players going out there and trying to smack it in one-day cricket. There is an art
to a one-day innings and Cook accelerates throughout the innings,” said Grayson.
