The captain believes that this series is an ideal opportunity for the youngsters to prove their guts and cement their positions in the squad. However, he also opines that they will have to shoulder additional responsibilities in the absence of the veterans.

Talking to the media, the skipper said, “It’s great to see the enthusiasm the youngsters bring. A lot are on their first England tours, a very special occasion for them. (Yorkshire’s) Tim Bresnan will now be the leader of our attack, and I think he’s looking
forward to that challenge.”
He further elaborated, “Jade Dernbach and Steven Finn will have to step up as well, and I can see in everyone’s eyes how much they are looking forward to this opportunity and to having to stand up and be counted.”
All of the three teenagers have demonstrated excellent courage and confidence against the Men in Blue during their recently-concluded home series. Above all, Bresnan played a key role in steering his side to clinch the No 1 slot in world Test rankings.
The Poms beat the visitors in all of the games played during the tour. Now, they have arrived in India to test their real strengths and capabilities.
