Khurram Manzoor, the discarded opening batsman of Pakistan, has revealed that he considers England’s left-handed opener, Alastair Cook, as his role model in modern day cricket and wants to emulate his performances.
Cook has been an exceptional performer for the English cricket team in the five-day format of the game and off-late he has been doing very well in One Day International cricket as well. The left hander is also the captain of the English team in ODI cricket
as he replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011.
Khurram made his Test debut in 2009 but so far he has failed to cement his place in the national team in any form of the game. He is generally considered as someone who is more suited to Test cricket because of his inability to score runs at a brisk pace.
The right-handed batsman from Karachi feels that Cook is a great role model for any youngster in the world. Cook is still young but he has extra ordinary temperament and very seldom plays rash shots.
The out of favour Pakistani batsman also believes that it is going to be very hard for the Pakistani bowlers to dismantle the left hander in the upcoming Test series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755
has one of the best bowling attacks in the world.
He said, “Cook's approach and gameplan is fantastic for Test cricket. He is someone who batsmen around the world can learn from and he is a very good role model. Cook will provide a stern challenge to the Pakistani bowlers but it should be a great encounter
and a close series in the UAE. I just hope I am part of the action."
Khurram is disappointed that he has so far failed to make it big at the international level but feels that he still has a lot of cricket ahead of him and he can still find a permanent spot in the national team.
“I don't think I did myself justice in the 14 matches that I have played for my country and want to prove to my critics that I am a better batsman than what some think I am," said Khurram.
