Valencia defensive-midfielder, David Albelda, has criticised his teammates' performance on the pitch in the wake of the departure of their former coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Pellegrino.
After the sacking of Pellegrino as the boss of Valencia, the player spoke to the media regarding the state of the club.
Albelda is surely familiar with change. The midfielder said that soon things will become clear and everyone will be in a position to see how the change in management effects the players and the club.
“In the coming weeks we’ll see if the situation changes a bit in the dressing room, if we respect each other as we did before.”
The veteran player is urging his teammates to stick together and go through changes as one.
“We must learn to be together in the bad times and the good, not just playing well when we’re happy.”
The Spaniard commented on the departure of his former coach and believes that Pellegrino did his best but the results were not in his favour.
“In my view Pellegrino did a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 which was not rewarded with results.”
Some have suggested that Pellegrino was soft with the players and didn’t push them enough. That is an analysis which is not shared by Albelda. He came to the defence of his ex-boss and said that during difficult times, people will come up with all kinds
of excuses.
“It’s normal in difficult situations for people to say the Coach did not have a heavy hand and compare him with Unai [Emery].”
Finally, the 35-year-old shared his thoughts on the newly appointed Valencia coach, Ernesto Valverde, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Albelda-c10417 admitted that he doesn’t know much about his new boss. All he knows is that he had some good runs with other outfits in the Primera Division.
“I know Valverde a little, he has worked well everywhere expect Villarreal and has a good resume.”
Although Los Che have already qualified to the last-16 of the Champions League with a game in hand, they have struggled to keep the same momentum in the Primera Division.
After their shock 5-2 defeat at home to Real Sociedad, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 have drifted more from the 4th place. They currently sit on the 12th position in the table.
