Albert Pujols' future for the St. Louis Cardinals to be determined – MLB News
The St. Louis Cardinals’ Albert Pujols will be available for free agency as the World Series draws to end. There might well be a lot of aspirants to seize the rare moment of securing his service for the team, but what does Pujols think about it? There is
no answer to this question.
The decision shall be made once the World Series has a final decision. For now, the Cardinals and the Rangers are locked in a tough battle where the latter has 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.
However, there are already rumours that Pujols might get a huge offer once he is a free agent. What is blindingly obvious, if it needed to be so evident, Pujols might not get the kind of admiration, adoration and reverence that he currently enjoys in the
St. Louis Cardinals.
While there might have been a lot of talks in the town following the Game 5 fiasco, whereby Pujols went for a hit-and-run play, the fact remains indisputable that the team still holds immense respect for the player and whatever decision he makes.
"I think I've said over and over again that for the 11 years that we've been together, Albert has proven every year, virtually every day of the season and postseason, he is a great player, not just a great producer, he's a very smart baseball player," La
Russa said.
The point that needs to be emphasised is that Pujols has the managerial permission to have his hit-and- run play whenever he wants. That, the team manager, argues is the right that Pujols had earned through hard work and exceptionally amazing performance
throughout the years.
It will be interesting to see what Pujols does once he becomes a free agent after the World Series. Many teams are looking to lure him away from the Cardinals and acquire his tremendous abilities for their respective teams.
Whatever the end result, what is true is that Pujols constitutes a powerful part of the St. Louis Cardinals. Game 6 of the World Series will be a testimony to it.
