Albert Subirats wins Men’s 100m butterfly gold: Day three – Venezuela Open Championships
Albert Subirats of HHISP won gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly in the 14 and above age class on day three of the Venezuela Open Championships in Maracaibo on May 19.
The 26-year-old Subirats demonstrated his gruelling efforts in the double lap freestyle event and paved his way to the finishing wall for gold medal of the event.
With his scintillating efforts in the 100m discipline, Subirats managed to outperform his strongest challenger over the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with the timing of 53.04 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Octavio Alesi of MAPOR, who remained 0.06 seconds slower and tapped the finishing end for silver medal by submitting a time of 53.10 seconds.
Alesi was followed by Jesus Casanova of MAPOR, who stayed two body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 55.64 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Alexis Marquez of CEDAM, who was half body length behind and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth position holder by producing a time of 56.08 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was chased by Eddy Marin of CNTRU, who stayed 0.38 seconds apart and hit the finishing end with the timing of 56.46 seconds.
The 20-year-old Marin was trailed by Glen A Sochackyj of HHISP, who was 0.08 seconds apart and completed his race in a time of 56.54 seconds.
Sochackyj faced tough competition from his teammate, Adolfo Delgado throughout the event but managed to outsmart his over the wall for sixth position. Delgado stayed just 0.05 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with an effort of
56.59 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Rafael Aponte of CNTRU, who was only two strokes behind and posted a time of 56.87 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship came to an end after the conclusion of all planned events while the position holders were called upon the medal rostrum for their furious efforts at the medal distribution ceremony of the tournament after the session.
