Who are you registered/enrolled with and what do you like about them? Anybody around Red Deer? Are their any associations or support groups there?

  1. Here is a listing of a lot of the groups in Alberta but I didn't see one for Red Deer.

Did you know about the homeschool conference on April 11 & 12?   It's in Red Deer and all the school boards will be there.  It's a great time to ask a lot of questions from all the groups.    It's a Christian conference although great for anyone really and HUGE.

Personally, we're with the Centre for Learning at Home (Okotoks)  We've been with them for over 4 years now and for the most part they've been good.

  2. We're with Vermilion/School of Hope. I like that they are completely okay with us doing our own thing and once we hit high school credit time, they are so very flexible. They have stuff that goes on in Red Deer so there must be homeschoolers there, although I have to say I've been unable to actually locate a group for you.

  3. We're with the Centre for Learning At Home.  They're in Okotoks, but they service a lot of Alberta.  We like them.  They have lots of activities to participate in and the facilitators are really good.  Here's a link to their site:

I hope this helps you out!

  4. I think here in Canada we have a national homeschooling program, i'd check for the local ones.

I live one province to the West of you, in BC, and we have plenty of homeschool programs, i'd check with your local school district principals or search google for it.
